The Grand Canyon

The weather certainly has changed from what we encountered in Las Vegas. The wind got so bad last night that David had to get up in the middle of the night to pull our slide out in...found out this morning that the wind was 27 miles an hour with gusts up to 37!

We started our morning with a gunslinger show out by the train station...always fun. We boarded the train for a trip that was a little over 2 hours up to the canyon. Once we got there, we debarked and boarded a tour bus. The bus took us to a great lunch and then we did the actual tour. The Grand Canyon is so amazing...there are not enough words to describe the vision. Our tour was almost 3 hours and then we came back to the train station so we could tour the El Tovor Hotel and the Hopi House. I was intrigued with the Hopi House which was a building built in the early 1900's by  Hopi workmen using native stone and wood.

The wind at the canyon was brutal! But, even with the wind, you cannot deny the beauty of the Grand Canyon!

Just a little peek at the weather we are experiencing tonight...snow, high winds and very low temperatures!
